Therme Dubai – What to Expect

Dubai is preparing to open one of the most ambitious wellbeing projects in the world, set to become a vertical sanctuary of water, light, and nature.

Therme Dubai is an upcoming landmark wellbeing destination in the heart of the city, set to redefine how wellness, nature, and urban life intersect. Scheduled to open in 2028, it is planned to be the world’s tallest wellbeing resort, rising approximately 100 metres above Zabeel Park, directly across from the iconic Dubai Frame.

Designed by Diller Scofidio + Renfro, the complex will span about 500,000 square feet and is part of Dubai’s broader Quality of Life and urban sustainability strategies. It aims to attract around 1.7 million visitors annually.

Concept and Design

Therme Dubai, also known as “Islands in the Sky”, is conceived as a vertical oasis blending wellness, nature, culture, and water. The architecture features stacked botanical terraces, lush greenery spanning multiple levels, cascading 18-metre waterfalls, and panoramic views of the city skyline.

The structure is designed to feel like a vertical greenhouse and urban sanctuary — bringing nature into a climate-controlled environment with plants, water, and light integrated throughout.

Three Core Zones

The experience is organised into three distinct wellbeing zones:

Restore
A quiet, rejuvenating area focused on relaxation and therapeutic practices, including saunas, steam rooms, and mineral baths inspired by global bathing traditions.

Relax
Indoor and outdoor thermal pools, mineral-rich water environments, and spaces designed for unwinding and gentle restoration of body and mind.

Play
A family-friendly interactive zone with water slides and attractions that blend activity and fun with wellbeing elements.

Wellness, Nature, and Sustainability

At its core, Therme Dubai aims to be more than a luxury spa or waterpark but a wellness ecosystem:

• It will house one of the largest indoor botanical gardens in the world, featuring over 200 plant species and enhancing urban biodiversity.
• Water sustainability is integral: about 90 percent of pool water will be recycled, and clean energy will meet a significant portion of the facility’s cooling and air-handling needs.
• Spaces are designed to support both physical health and mental wellbeing, blending hydrotherapy, thermal experiences, natural elements, and cultural programming in one environment.

Amenities and Experiences

Visitors can expect a mix of wellness-focused facilities and curated experiences:

• Thermal and mineral pools
• Spa and hydrotherapy rituals
• Botanical gardens and nature-rich spaces
• Water features and immersive architectural environments
• Dining, including a Michelin-starred option and restaurants integrated into the landscaped terraces
• Spaces for cultural events, exhibitions, and community programming

Location and Vision

Situated in Zabeel Park Therme Dubai is part of the city’s Quality of Life initiatives aimed at enhancing urban livability and wellbeing. It is designed not just as a resort, but as an urban sanctuary where water, nature, art, and wellness converge.
