Capella Dubai Will Bring Biohacking Auriga Spa to Dubai Peninsula
Capella Hotel Group has announced its first hotel in Dubai – a 115-key property on the Jumeirah coastline, scheduled to open in 2030.
A new stretch of Dubai’s shoreline is taking shape at Dubai Peninsula, a 210-acre waterfront destination on the Jumeirah coast. On 29 October, Capella Hotel Group announced from Singapore that Capella Dubai will open there in 2030, joining Aman and Rosewood on the same shore. For a brand that has so far grown across Asia Pacific, Dubai marks its move into the Middle East – a region that, in the words of group President Roland Fasel, shares Capella’s appreciation for craftsmanship, culture and exceptional service.
The hotel is developed by H&H, the Dubai developer that introduced Four Seasons, Aman, Janu and Rosewood to the city, and designed by Denniston. It will be deliberately compact: 115 keys, including a collection of suites with private pools and a 600-square-metre Capella Suite conceived as a residential-style retreat. Around it, the peninsula is planned as a walkable coastal neighbourhood organised around a central park, with a superyacht marina, waterfront residences, dining and retail, a kilometre of private beach and more than two million square feet of botanical gardens.
A spa that follows the moon
For wellness travellers, the most interesting chapter is the spa. Auriga Spa, Capella’s signature concept, takes its inspiration from lunar cycles – a fitting pairing, as Capella is the brightest star in the constellation of Auriga.
In Dubai, it will combine rituals of heat and water, with a hammam and a hydrotherapy circuit pool, and two biohacking facilities for a more contemporary approach to recovery. Male and female treatment rooms, a co-ed suite, a VIP suite, grooming services and quiet relaxation lounges complete the picture. The wider Capella Wellness offer adds a Fitness Centre, a Mind Body Studio and an outdoor fitness area that brings training into the open air.
Culturists, rooftop and beach
The heart of the hotel will be the Living Room, home to Capella’s Culturists. Their role is to get to know each guest personally and shape the stay around their interests, from pre-arrival to departure, opening the way to Capella Curates – experiences created exclusively for the brand’s guests and drawn from Dubai’s culture, heritage and creative scene.
Five venues will carry the hotel’s social life, from the lobby lounge and The Living Room to a signature restaurant, with a specialty restaurant and destination bar on the rooftop overlooking the skyline. The rooftop also holds a pool of nearly 70 metres lined with cabanas, while at beach level a family pool and Little Stars, Capella’s children’s club, are designed for younger guests. A ballroom, two meeting rooms, a VIP Majlis and an outdoor event lawn will host celebrations and business occasions.
“Capella has always been deliberately selective about where it goes, choosing destinations where we believe we can create something meaningful and distinctive,” says Roland Fasel, President of Capella Hotel Group. “With the opening of Capella Dubai in 2030, we will further establish our presence in one of the region’s most compelling cities, while remaining true to the hospitality that defines Capella.”
